 HEATING AND COOLING

 (AIR CONDITIONERS)

 

 

The Iberville Parish School Board must approve the installation of any air conditioner unit installed in any classroom and/or building owned by the School Board.  In granting approval for the installation of air conditioner units in individual classrooms and/or buildings owned by the School Board the following established guidelines shall be considered:

 

1.

Requests shall not be considered or approved unless installation to be made will result in every classroom being air conditioned in the total school facility.

 

2.

The initial capital outlay for acquisition of the units must be paid in full prior to the installation.

 

3.

Expense for the installation of units shall be at no cost to the Board.  Installation shall cover following items:

 

a.

All electrical (labor and materials) necessary for the proper installation and use of units including any cost necessary for adding to the present electrical current to the school.  Electrical work necessary and cost must be established and presented to School Board maintenance supervisor for approval prior to making request to the Board.  All work must be done by a licensed electrician.

 

b.

All labor and materials necessary to properly install individual units in a classroom or building such as window castings-strip­ping, etc. (must be established).  Installation work and cost must be established and presented to the School Board maintenance supervisor for approval prior to making request to the Board

 

c.

All insulation as may be necessary and/or required by law at the time of installation to insure proper energy conservation.

 

4.

Expense for maintaining the unit shall be at no cost to the Board and shall include all things necessary such as regular inspections, cleaning, oiling, replacing worn parts and filters, and all things necessary to properly operate units conservatively as to use of energy.

 

5.

Persons, groups, and/or organizations requesting approval shall guarantee in writing that all requirements herein established shall be complied with.

 

6.

All installations shall become the property of the School Board.

 

7.

In the event any one of the above requirements are not met at any given time, the Board shall reserve the right to revoke the premium granted.

 

8.

The Board shall reserve the right to waive any individual require­ment or groups of requirements herein above established.
